Lots of news!
Kate is practicing walking now! If you let her stand in front of you and hold onto your hands, she will walk forward. It's remarkable how much she has grown! Now that Kate has mastered the "high five" we are working on playing Patty Cake, hopefully she will catch on soon!
She still only has two teeth, but is definitely getting tired of baby food already. We give her little bits of "baby-safe" foods to taste and she sure does like it! Her current faves are any kind of bread, pita and soft smushy veggies. On Saturday she had the "chicken noodle" baby food and seemed to really enjoy it! She also took the spoon, dunked it in the baby food, and fed herself! Then when I told her to "feed Mama" she dunked the spoon and put it in my mouth. She is such a good girl! She made a mess feeding us both, but she sure was proud of herself.
Over the weekend she tried a teething biscuit for the first time and loved it...but shortly afterwards she was breaking out in that red cheek rash again and we found out that they are made with milk! So that confirms our suspicions that she has a milk allergy...no milk products for Katelyn at all! I sure hope she grows out of this, or life could be a bit hard for her...
On another note, this is my last week of work for the time being! I recently found out that my position at Banana Republic corporate is being eliminated (boohoo!) so I am looking for my next career move. Wish me luck!Add a comment:

Dancing, clapping, making silly noises!
I am so very behind! I haven't updated the site yet to announce that Kate claps! She's been doing these things for weeks and it's the funniest thing! When she claps, she slaps her hands together so it looks like she is wiping off dirt. It's pretty cute...
She says "Da!! Da!!" when she dances which is Katespeak for "dance" too! (Very different than the distinct "dada" which is pretty much constant!) She also says "Get!" when you play the "I'm gonna get you!" game. She is expanding her vocabulary, but not quite expanding her sign language skills yet, even though I work on signing with her constantly. I thought it was supposed to be the opposite? Interesting!
She's also learned that if you wiggle your finger over her lips she makes a silly noise...so that is our new game!
Other than being behind on the site, I am super behind on my personal email and voicemails. So if you haven't heard back from me, please don't take it personally. I am having a hard time finding time to balance everything right now...please bear with Kate's Mommy for the time being!Comments:Add a comment:

Auntie Lyndee is at boot camp!
Today Lyndee left for boot camp for the Air Force. She will be gone for six weeks and we won't be able to talk to her or email her at all! Even though she lives in Colorado, we will miss her so much. We are so proud of her for serving our country! BE SAFE LYNDEE! WE LOVE YOU!Comments:Add a comment:

Katelyn went back to school today!
Yaay, it was a good day! Kate went back to school and Mommy went back to work - hooray!!!
Tonight at dinnertime, Katelyn actually fed herself pieces of the puffs that I always feed her after her baby food. She has been trying for about a month, but tonight she actually got them in her mouth. That was a fun first!Comments:Amanda: Yippee! We are glad the Banisters are feeling better!!!Add a comment:

I can't believe how big she's getting! The time sure has flown!
